We’re a small but mighty non-profit dedicated to enhancing life experiences for our youth community.
Our Mission:
To mentor young athletes through sports by building character, discipline, and team unity - preparing them to succeed on-and-off the field.
MJB Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. Created by dedicated parents with a shared vision - “To help youth athletes succeed in all aspects of life.”
What began as a commitment to our own children has grown into a community-driven nonprofit focused on mentorship, opportunity, and long-term impact for young athletes.
Many of the athletes we serve come from single-parent homes, broken households, or are being raised by grandparents and relatives. For these young athletes, sports provide more than competition - they provide structure, mentorship, and a sense of belonging.
Through the guidance of our dedicated coaches and staff, our athletes learn discipline, accountability, leadership, and teamwork. The bonds formed within our program create strong team unity that extends far beyond the field, helping shape confident young leaders in school, sports, and their communities.
As a non-profit organization, we rely on the support of our community to continue providing opportunities for our youth. Donations and sponsorships help us provide:
Support for Families Facing Financial Hardship
Safety Equipment and Uniforms
Mentorship and Life Skill Opportunities
Team Camps, Scrimmages, and Tournaments
Training Equipment and Workout Programs

Mike “Mikey” J. Birner, commonly referred to as the “Mayor of Avondale, CO”, was known for his dedication to both sports and community. Mikey's passion for life was shone through his involvement in various activities from a young age, excelling in basketball, baseball, and fastpitch. When his playing days ended, Mikey transitioned seamlessly into coaching, impacting his knowledge and love for sports to younger generations. Beyond athletics, he was a pillar in the community, volunteering at the annual church festival, serving at funerals, and always extending a helping hand to friends and family. His commitment to nurturing future generations was evident in his role as a janitor at the local middle school, where he communicated daily with students, offering support and encouragement. Mikey’s life embodies the spirit of community service and dedication, making him a cherished member of Avondale, CO. Mikey also was a veteran of the United States Army. His legacy is being carried out by his daughter, Priscilla Robinson, who is an active director of the MJB Foundation.
